its spring again and the rat snake is gone
Nature-inspired textured wall art
$350.00
This work is an exploration of childhood nostalgia, the beauty of nature, and the delicate ways that memory transforms over time. The layered materials, soft felt, translucent fabric, and organic fragments mimic the sensation of looking through the haze of recollection. What was once vivid becomes dreamlike, what was once ordinary becomes sacred.
As a child, my connection to nature was instinctive earth, leaves, water, and light all felt alive and full of meaning. This piece seeks to recreate that sense of wonder, while acknowledging the distance that adulthood often imposes. The softly textured frame suggests both protection and enclosure, like a cherished memory held close. Within it, abstract organic forms drift and intertwine echoes of plants, thisles, or imagined creatures from youthful daydreams.
By combining tactile fibers with fluid, iridescent imagery, I aim to evoke the blur between physical presence and emotional memory. The work invites viewers to feel, not just see to recall their own fragmentary impressions of growing up close to the natural world, and to rediscover the quiet enchantment that persists within memory’s shimmer.
